The history of the main nations.
1. The Centarii: The Centarii, like all nations started out small. However, they contained ambition and the want to rise to power. In the early days, when there was still one Desert king they fought the tribes of Torum, a few they conquered using superior tactics and armour. Having settlements close to the shore, they traded with the other factions for advanced weapons and armour. However the tribes of Torum were fierce, they beat down the Centarii with force of numbers, and they thought that their conquests were finished.
However, like a Valkyrie of Drasdul himself, a mighty warrior and master tactician, Decimus Honus, the new general of the Centarii armies fought them back. He used not only force of men but a web of deceit to crush the alliances of the tribes that opposed him and caused numerous civil revolts. Some haters of the Centarii at the time would argue he was a demon attempting to lead the Centarii to corruption just like a demon had done to the Mighty legion. Most of these people held high ranking positions within the Centarii government, soon civil war erupted.
Four main families battled, and the family of Decimus came out on top. The Centarii were his, he practically owned all of Torum, but he strangely disappeared. The Centarii now rule with a senate, and have the Popus Lordus, who is said to be an incarnation of Drasdul. The Centarii based them off the old mighty legion, using a legionary system to keep order and discipline. While not having an advantage in numbers, they more than make up for it in advanced tactics and deadly weaponry. Most of the Centarii are human, yet they have been known to employ animal men to their service.
2. Yr Isen Coch: Yr Isen Coch is the old famous saying of tribes known as: “The one who bathes in blood”. They got this name for their bloodlust and battle thirst. Most of your life as a member of Yr Isen Coch consists of fighting, pillaging and looting. No tribe can stand up to them in sheer force, their berserkers are some of the most legendary warriors known, said to be able to take fifty armoured men on, and win. Using the forests and mountains to their advantages they spring ambushes on the unsuspecting. At one point Yr Isen Coch referred to several tribes.
Now however, they have came under one banner in order to hold off a new threat, the Centarii. Yr Isen Coch accepts all races as long as they can fight and act in battle, but they’re mostly centaurs, animal men, Halflings and humans. There is said to be a few giants aiding
them as well.
3. Aktul Dur: Aktul dur or “the black horde” inhabits Sharasdur, once the continent was home to many unique civilisations, however none can hold under the relentless armies of the black horde. What was once a nomad tribe is now a mighty empire, with a standing military more unique than any other military. They rely on large forces of cavalry and missile cavalry, but also have small units of skilled axe men to mop up anything left. It is said that in order to become a true cavalryman of the black horde, it takes years of training. To become one of the missile cavalry that harasses the enemies you must learn how to hit a rabbit from 200ft away with a bow, on a horse.
Although, while it is united as one empire, it has several segments of it that have in some ways kept their independence as empires. These parts lend help to their military effort with all sorts of men, trained in the ways of their cultures. The black horde is also a large exporter of trade goods, things that are rare to find on other continents. The black horde is largely Gist arak (People made out of sand), a few humans, some centaurs (Which are mainly noblemen, and seen as a great race), a couple of Wendigos and a decent amount of kobolds.
4. Alwaki Nara: The Alwaki Nara were never a lucky people. In early history they managed to rise out of the tribal depths and become quite a prosperous empire. That is of course until the Desert king rallied his armies and pushed back the Alwaki Nara, killing their most famous leader, Tutenahama. Of course the Desert king couldn’t hold the territories and soon negotiated a peace treaty and fled. Before they had a chance to mobilise and take back what land they lost, the Koraginians came across the sea and inhabited the cities. The Alwaki Nara is largely Gist arak and Humans.
5. Koraginians: The Koraginians were the families that were defeated in the Centarii civil war. Fleeing with what men they had, they sought fortune on Alwara. The recently conquered cities of the Alwaki Nara lay before them. They were weak and ripe for conquering. A mighty general, Hannosara led them to conquest and held the cities. Over time the Koraginians grew to become less aggressive to the Centarii, they also played quite a large part in the war against the Charred legion. The Koraginians are made up of a variety of races, including Humans, Ethereals, animal men and a small population of Modur (Fish lizard humanoids).
6. The desert King/s: Originally there was one desert king, who was called so because he once went into the desert for a whole year with no supplies, and came back alive. Some theorise he’s an immortal or a god in disguise. One of these must be correct since he’s the oldest person ever recorded. At one point in his life he raised an army, and attempted to conquer Alwara. While he took about half of the Alwaki Nara cities, he failed his invasion. This defeat humbled the desert king, who then became quite a religious man and read of how demons once ravaged the world. During the war with the Charred legion he was a main power and almost defeated the Charred legion alone.
However the archdemon used a curse on him fed upon his negative energy and pulled out four parts of him. One part was Greed, the other was Rage, another was Deceit and the final one was Hedonism. This caused his kingdom to split into five, four parts ruled by shadows, the other part ruled by him. Even today he struggles to hold onto his part, however some other nations have started to help him. The Desert kings have large amounts of Gist Arak, humans, some animal men and quite a lot of Ethereals.
7. The charred legion: (Most of this is explained in the plot so go there for more detail on basically everything). In the past the Charred legion had built up strong powerful armies in order to battle two mighty beasts, the giant of ten heads, and the Cthilion. Defeating these beasts was said to make you a god of sorts. Of course, history took its course and now we have the Charred legion, a wild group of insane savages who only want destruction. The charred legion is made up of: Orcs, some centaurs, ogres, trolls, a few kobolds and a handful of humans.
8. Elri Dura: These people are immortals in their own way. After constant worship of Niarlyhotema, he granted them immortality, at the price of them devoting their lives to him. Of course, gaining immortality from such a malevolent god angered some of the populace, yet they took it for a while. The Archdemon also caused trouble for this race, it stirred up a civil war in which one half of them decided to quit immortality and live like the mortal races. Elri Dura is known for its hospitality to all races, but it’s mostly elves, animal men, centaurs and a few Ethereals.
9. Ivandor: Ivandor, the Dwarven nation that once lived more to the south, but one day a colony was established in Friece. Many said that such colony would never survive, it would simply crumble. However they were lead by a powerful captain, and soon the colony thrived. The dwarves abandoned their homes to move there, only to be followed by their arch enemies, the Gnomes. The Gnomes and Dwarves had warred since the start of time, constantly engaged in battle. Ivandor is largely Dwarven, yet there are a few gnomes who don’t hate dwarves, some animal men and a small population of ogres, one was even voted mayor once.
